Attendees at Cabinet meetings are the Executive body of the Council, these include; the Leader of the Council, Six Cabinet Spokespersons, each of which is responsible for a portfolio of work relative to the governance of the Borough.

The Chief Executive, Executive Directors and senior officers of the authority are also in attendance at these meetings.

Policy proposals are brought forward by portfolio holders and discussed by the Executive. The Executive make decisions on the recommendations within the documents, and form a strategic plan for the authority. The Executive also receive and responds to recommendations from Scrutiny Commissions and receive petitions from the public.
